FILM SHOOT AT BLÜHNBACH

This spring, parts of the Austrian television production Die Toten von Salzburg were filmed at Blühnbach Castle and on the surrounding grounds for the episode Jagdfieber. The long-running crime series, set in and around Salzburg, is regarded as one of the most successful television crime productions in the German-speaking world.

The series stars Patricia Aulitzky, Fanny Krausz and Michael Fitz as the Bavarian-Austrian investigative trio, and is directed by Erhard Riedlsperger. The cast also includes Erwin Steinhauer, Michael Schönborn, Nikolaus Barton and Simon Hatzl.

The historic interiors and landscape of the estate provided a distinctive setting for several scenes of the production. During filming, cast and crew worked on location over several days, carefully adapting the spaces for cinematic use while respecting the character of the property.

Since 2023, Die Toten von Salzburg has been produced in accordance with the Austrian “Green Producing” eco-label guidelines (UZ76). The series has also received multiple honours, including awards at the KURIER Romy Awards.
